Culinary Artists of the Gorge Supports CGAIE

Culinary Artists of the Gorge is a cookbook celebrating chefs in the Columbia Gorge area. Columbia River Gorge chefs come from all over the country and the world, bringing an impressive diversity of experience and artistry that is worthy of celebration. Each chef presented in this book shares his or her experiences and a selection of their signature recipes from their restaurant or home. These talented chefs enjoy making people happy with their craft. Most are strong athletes who love to windsurf, snow ski, cycle, or hike in the Gorge. Like so many others who come to visit and often make this their permanent home, our chefs moved here not for fame or fortune, but for the lifestyle.

This book project was a cooperation and collaboration between the chefs, author, and Columbia Gorge Arts in Education. Local children and artists from CGAIE created the photos and poetry featured in the book. These works are a vivid reminder of the close ties between culinary arts and the many other media that inspire and motivate our local artists to create. Proceeds from this cookbook will help Columbia Gorge Arts in Education continue to support artists and go toward sustainable funding for arts education in schools and community centers throughout the Gorge.

Visitors and residents of the Columbia River area can use this book as a personal tour guide to the Gorge’s many culinary adventures.
